Read this thread I've linked below. It sounds like you need to learn some of the basics. This will give you a good start in understanding suspension.

What is your budget?

You can get a relatively inexpensive suspension setup with just a set of springs and shocks.

What are your plans with the car? Daily Driver?

dont get what you posted in your pic, those look like cheap ass weld on coils from egay..

read through the suspension basics that rusker posted, it will answer allot of questions,

if your looking for some reliable cheap coilovers that are legit, look into megan racing, stance, tein basics etc.

don't be afraid to ask if your not sure about the quality of certain parts your looking into.. i know i wouldn't want to buy some junk ass weld on coils..

budget wise you can look into some lowering springs and struts.
if you want to spend alil more you can get some coilovers with adjustable height.

lowering springs is a set height. cannot adjust.
coilovers fully adjustable to your liking.

so depending on how much you want to spend and your preference is all up to you.keep an eye out on the parts classifieds as you can find some good deals on slightly used coilovers/lowering springs with struts. and as stated by THOMPSON18. dont hesistate to ask on quality of the product.

If you are serious about suspension I'd start with a beginner book like this:

http://www.amazon.com/High-Performan...pr_product_top

I picked up this book awhile back when I wanted to learn more about suspension.

I'd suggest to read up on everything before you spend your money. The cheap Ebay stuff is probably not the way to go. There are also a lot of product reviews online you can go through to see what others think of particular setups.

I don't follow. The car is on stock suspension, but the ride height is lower than stock? Please elaborate on what you mean.

Nobody "needs" coilovers, though if you think you do and plan on spending less than $1100 (new) on coilovers, you would be wasting your money and more than likely decreasing the traction and handling abilities of your car.

So you have stock suspension but it's lowered? Did he cut the stock springs or something?

If it rides fine the way it is I say just keep it until you learn enough to make a good decision on an upgrade. Like we've said you don't NEED coilovers, but it is an option. Read over some of the links that have been posted and get yourself familiar with the basics of suspension.

I wouldn't personally waste your money on what is in the photo you posted.

Here is an old thread with a lot of information on various pros/cons for different types of common 240sx suspension mods.

if your shocks arent blown dont worry about upgrading your stock suspenssion unless you dont like the monster truck affect. if you want a little bit smoother ride go for some tein s techs springs with mabey a gr2 or tokiko shocks..than if you decide you want a low ride that really stiff go for a coilover....dont go for those weld on things your better off cutting your springs but dont do that either.
