So recent additions include, mostly trying to make the car more reliable for track days. especially the ones 700 miles away.
-Putting stock manifold back on (more power, won't crack) not that the ebay one did. at least 8 or so track days on that ebay manifold. again reliability.
-duct work for cooling, putting stock undertray back on, sard cooler t-stat. made huge differences in cooling on track and DD.
-making the turbo stay on the manifold. lesson learned those clips do do something.
got a new gasket for outlet, probably just didn't notice with previous gaskets but the one hole on the 2871r is way off. still works, just puts a bit of stress on the gasket. and new bolts which can make tightening them easier if they get loose.
new nissan gasket for inlet, new clips to keep the nuts on. don't throw them away, they do do something.
Heat wrap aroung the area where the coupler connects to the turbo. used to always pop off there from the heat. only had a couple feet couldn't do the whole manifold. ceramic coating would be nice but taking the turbo off sucks and i want to drive it. this works just fine. stock heat shield might work but i don't have one.
The cooling panels just made to fit in between the intercooler and radiator, directing all the air so i has to go through the radiator. with a bad t-stat i was seeing temps down to 150 on the way home from TH. and for that last Thunder Hill track day it was easy 95 outside and temps stayed around 200-210 on the output pipe. still can do some more to block air passing around the radiator but this was a big improvement.
I've had my luck with T-stats so i always test them before i install it. sard on the left, stock on right. i ordered nismo stat from phase 2 but they were on back order so they sent me this one. was kinda scared but it tested fine and works much better than this stock one which seemed to be sticking open. 2nd pic is pretty bad but the sard one is open and the stock one is closed at i think temp was 190.
Next up rear wheel bearings maybe a front one too.
