Got a Bore scope and was able to see a good bit of detonation on the outer edge of the pistons. So hoping i can get away with just replacing the rings. We'll see. about time for a new clutch, too. This is gonna suck.

Its not as bad as i thought i saw with the borescope. In any case the motor had to come out.

#1 after cleaned up

#4 not cleaned up

But you can see the streaks in the walls, only on the one side of all 4. nothing very serious, i can barely feel them and none have caught my finger nail. Still got some work to do but its not as bad as i was expecting.

Sold my dd to get this damn car running again. I've assembled the whole motor myself, crank up. FWIW, I won't do it again, its not worth saving the few bucks. give it someone with the right tools.

I reused my CP pistons, just got new rings.

used Calico coated ACL bearings rod and crank. reused the eagle rods with new bolts.

Bottom end assembled

JWT C1's and JWT valve springs, new valve guides and seals.

Freddy IM assembled

mostly assembled

motor back in where its supposed to be. mocking up my oil cooler.

It is made by Laminova, but Mocal sells them so i guess they have to put their sticker on it. pretty awesome piece. really only downside is a bit less coolant flow and your rad must be up to task. we shall find out soon enough.

found this coolant hose, that just was meant for it.

got oil lines made

Done and running, not without issues thou.

shooting for tuning next week and ORP on the 15th but we'll see.

yeah gonna miss you, but i'll keep you updated. you should see my updated catch can that works. i ran 91 octane with 2 gallons of 100 and turned down the boost. car ran well. i'll get a video when i get time.

Miller was pretty cool, not like ORP, no blind turns but some very technical ones. 1st lap out an exige was keeping up with me. I wasn't going fast at all, so i pointed him by on the front. he spun it after turn one into the gravel. it was awesome, his first timeout and pushing it way to hard.

doug, i frequent this forum a lot now, i know its another forum to read but its full of decent nissan racers that actually use their cars and have some cool parts that are made by members.
