    Windshield wiper connecting rod(s)

Ok guys this is becoming a reoccurring problem and just wondering if anyone else has run into this, and if so what they have done to fix it. Long story short the 2 connecting rods which connect into the wiper arms themselves in order to move the wiper arms simutaneously keep becoming disconnected. I know how to fix them temp (push them back onto the connector) The thing is as of late it has become a big problem.. Driving down the 101 near LA last night at 11pm in the puring rain @80mph going with traffic and oops there go the wipers.. Yea not fun. I was thinking of zip tieing the arms to the connector just to keep them in place and prevent them from disconnecting, but was wondering if anyone knew of a better way. There doesnt appear to have been any kind of codder pin or anything, which would of made alot of sense. I don't know if age has just made things loose, or if there was something there and somewhere down the line it was lost. Any suggestions would be of great help

Replace them. If I'm not mistaken, they are just worn out where you push them on.
