350Z tie rods

Thanks for the pics, Nick!

I'll do a quick narration of the pics.

-Brought the car home, cleaned the sh*t out of my garage

-Crossmember is in the car, and wing is mounted

-With Nicks help I removed the door windows and assemblies. (I cut my finger up pretty good last week and have stitches, been working one handed lol)

-Also removed the windshield wiper motor, assemblies, arms, ect. Planning on rain-x'n the living hell out of my one and only window, and having a squeegee handy.

- got a pretty good xmas bonus from my boss and bought a bunch of tools, and other handy things to keep me organized.

-borrowed a friends bender, welder, and pipe notcher, and am beggining to build my front and rear bash bars.

I'm super excited, things are finally coming together and I think having it done by nissan fest is possible!

did you paint your steering rack? and whats all required to run 350z tie rods loving the build hopefully i can see it in person at nissan fest

Yeah it's painted lol. I got this really cool paint and had to use it somewhere! Lol.

I'm still figuring out how to run 350z tie rods. I believe just s14 outer tie rods. But I would not recommend running them unless you have the steering rack spacers like I have, that space the rods out like an inch. The z tie rods are a lot shorter than s13. My stock tie rods were too long to use because of the rack spacers and modded knuckles.

I would imagine if you just ran 350z tie rods on a stock steering setup you would LOSE angle!

Looks good Casey! I think the wing is a little to big though. Verts with smaller spoilers look cleaner, but whatever because this things gonna look sick either way!

i agree, i think the wing may not look well without a roof in front of it but we will see. It is such a rad wing i HAD to buy it, i thought if it doesnt fly on the vert i will hang onto it until i have something to put it on!

Did more work on the car! Finished front end suspension up, well kinda. I had it all torn apart and forgot to cut the stops off my lca. So more steering angle will happen!

350z tie rods were too short, so I cut my teins shorter.


Installed era1 tie rod relocaters.


Buttoning up the rest. Boots, outer tie rods, aligning.


Angle as is, more to go.




And how much more I can go till it hits tension rod, once I cut lca stops.



Than I built my rear bash bar, later nick named battle bumper. Pretty? No. Welds nice? No. Perfectly square and true? No! Do I care? No! I used borrowed tools, a 110 mig, dull AF portaband, and scrap metal my buddy got from work. I had fun building it and that's all that matters.
