trader rating history had to be dumped, wasn't compatible with the new forums and the new version of vbtrader. wish I could save them but there was no choice.

There is a second choice, Colin.
You can create a forum for classifieds rating, and people who sell stuff will just post their thread and name, and people who bought the stuff will reply with positive or negotive feedback.

yeah that's been done before and it never works, too much of a pain to search through hundreds of threads and posts just to do a quick check on someone.
the new vbtrader system is MONEY, the advantages outweight the disadvantage of loosing a couple of old ratings
besides, if the only thing lost in a *major* software upgrade is trading history, consider yourself lucky. we could have lost every single account, post, thread, etc.
Keep in mind this is not like installing a new version of MSN Messenger or changing a couple pages on a static html website, this is a series of hundreds of very complex, dynamic php scripts that interact with a mysql database.

thats why you keep your vouch thread bookmarked for handy usage like post it when sleling somthing ect...

But then the vouch thread becomes a big flame war and gets messy. The seperate section makes it much more effecient because it's designed specificaly for ebay style classifieds feedback.
I see what you're saying, but were going to stick with the trader rating system
When you see the new classified system you'll understand.

the trader rating isnt a big deal tho, most people never used it anyway so building it back up isnt a big deal-Brian
