    vq35de swap in a 240sx.

I'm not all thta concerned about the extra weight.
    And I'd a like a supercharger not a turbo.
This will be my daily driver for a couple months when the swap is done.
Basically, sr20's have never appealed to me.
vq35de with a supercharger is looking close to 400 ponies at a low boost.

What are my downsides. Why shouldn't I put this into my car.
    pro's con's thoughts? problems?

    I'm ready for the flames.

depending on which vq35 you get....the ones from the 350z has electronic throttle rather than a cable throttle....so thats one problem...and the wiring is a bitch!....not enough write ups or info about the swaps yet... but if you have the patience then by all means go for it!

I also support this. Although there is little to no info about the swap doesn't mean it cant be done. Some issues might be having space a dual exhaust sytem, and the wiring of course. Other than that engine bay space might also make this swap difficult. Then again, if you have the time this would be a sick ass swap. Maybe the wiring could be sourced out to UPgarage/? I dunno always a possibility.

Throttle body from a VQ30 will work with a cable. Motec can fly by wire with the electronic TB

This is probably way more expensive then an sr20 swap.
Because I was budgeting 5k to do a sr20 swap properly.
this is going to be ALOT more. haha.

Sounds like a cool swap to me! We're about to try a 2JZGTE into a 240! That works, so a VG35DE shouldn't be too difficult! As long as you have the ECU, harness, transmission, etc, it's doable. Just a fair amount of custom work to do up the drive shaft, engine mounts, tranny mount, and plumbing.

Personally I'd go twin-turbo over super charger, but that can get expensive to do well. But when it is done well, WOWOWOWOWOW!

Isn't forcefed a rotary shop though?

Likely it will cost more, yes. You could shoestring it together, also, depending on your knowledge and fabrication skills. To use stock wiring you have to use the ignition switch from the VQ donor and have the NATS key programed by the dealer, but it is possible. Have you read the Sport Compact highlighting this or checked out engineswaptech.com?

Another option is run an AEM EMS configured for it. They also sell those at VQswap.com.

I was looking at this option for a long time, and decided my current car is not the right candidate, and I just don't have the time or resources to do it. If you can, then cheers!

to be honest if you were to do a vq swap....it will be a hell of a lot harder than any of the more common swaps such as 1jz 2jz sr rb swaps.....you'd be better off going with an rb26dett swap if anything because your gonna get your 6 cylinders...and a twin turbo....but its all about how much money you are going to be spending and how patient your gonna be....vq swaps are still fairly new with the s-chassis

All very true, but it's always fun to be one of the first too!

I would love a vq35 swap... I have driven an 06 z 6 speed and it's a blast, even stock. A few mods and in a car that is ~500 pounds less... mmmmmm

    primarily yes.
    they've done a few sr20' swaps, and lots of rb26dett's and rb20s.
They've actually got rb20's laying around under piles of parts.

From that link that toptech posted looks like I can get everything you've mentioned, from that manufacturer in cali. It'd be neat having the only car like it Canada for sure. Marco @ force fed keeps telling me to get an sr20 and build it. I dunno everyone has one. I figure parts shouldn't be a problem in the least, I'll talk to him about it. As for the exhaust, yeah custom mounting for sure. And I've always been a bigger fan of super's unless it's a diesel. plus I don't need twin turbo power, lag, or problems, a super should be great.
