It has taken me a while here to wrap my head around what exactly happened at Super D. For those who don’t know some friends of mine and I decided it would be a brilliant idea to shove to large men and one slightly smaller man in a 2015 Nissan Micra and drive down to Irwindale/Super D for the weekend.
So let's get to Super D. After following the GPS down a weird dirt road we arrived at this small track in the middle of nowhere in Apple Valley, CA. As we pulled in I ...byPublished on 10-24-2016 01:51 PM
After 3 days in a car driving from Port Coquitlam, BC to Irwindale, CA I could honestly say I was not prepared for what was ahead of me at Formula Drift. With so many drivers still fighting it out for the championship it was going to be an exciting weekend.
First off lets get what happened at the thursday night practice out of the way. Forrest Blew the motor in the S15 so he was competing in his S14 and was down a few hundred horsepower.

Way back in 2011 a few friends told me I had to come check out this drift event at Penticton Speedway called The Drift Union Invitational. So naturally I went and have been hooked ever since.
Over the course of those 5 years I've watched this event grow A LOT with that growth a few changes have come, but two things have remained paramount. Driver quality, and fun. Round 7 at Irwindale has always been a dream of mine to attend, the stars never aligned until this year and I was able to get down to the event with my good friend Ian Fournier.
First thing I spotted was Dai’s past championship winning Nissan 240sx sitting out front of the Media Center waiting for setup in a tent for a display. This has truly always been one of my favorite cars and he was extremely successful in the chassis for many years.
Now Dai runs his own team and drives the Turn 14 FRS which has seen a lot of gremlins this year but everything seemed ...byPublished on 10-15-2015 11:44 AM
As anyone following along will know we’ve been covering Ian Fourniers’ travel through pro2 and unfortunately we had to miss texas which put him out of contention to run Irwindale. Thankfully for me, he and his wife decided to go down for the event anyway and take a little vacation while Ian helped out with his Indyspeed team mate, Brody Goble.
As much as I was not prepared for the 100F+ heat in California, ...
