It has taken me a while here to wrap my head around what exactly happened at Super D. For those who don’t know some friends of mine and I decided it would be a brilliant idea to shove to large men and one slightly smaller man in a 2015 Nissan Micra and drive down to Irwindale/Super D for the weekend.

After 3 days in a car driving from Port Coquitlam, BC to Irwindale, CA I could honestly say I was not prepared for what was ahead of me at Formula Drift. With so many drivers still fighting it out for the championship it was going to be an exciting weekend.
First off lets get what happened at the thursday night practice out of the way. Forrest Blew the motor in the S15 so he was competing in his S14 and was down a few hundred horsepower.

This year was probably one of the best starts to a Formula Drift weekend in the PNW we have seen in a long time. There was NO rain. And the heat kept in check for once! This coupled with the big bank, crazy early rear clip coming off the wall and a whole new last clipping point made for some incredible battles between every level of driver.
There was no ‘givens’ this weekend.

Way back in 2011 a few friends told me I had to come check out this drift event at Penticton Speedway called The Drift Union Invitational. So naturally I went and have been hooked ever since.
